In the words of Lion Allison Lennox:

"Volunteering is today a way of life. It starts as early in our childhood when we start selling Girl Guide Cookies, or selling Chocolate Bars for school. Then we volunteer to wash a neighbors cars and then we start school and start to volunteer with other kids who have problems reading or writing.  When we start High School we then have to complete 40 volunteer hours to graduate. From there we start to work, and they start holding fund raisers, and before you know it, not only did you complete you 40 hours for school but you now have 40+ years to add.

VOLUNTEERING  makes us feel that we have made a difference. When you build a home for someone who is homeless, when you send recycled glasses to someone who cannot read without them, when you raise enough money to pay for a guide dog for a little boy who is autistic, or when you send a kid to camp who has cancer.

REWARDS  for volunteering may start at age 5 when someone paid you $5.00 to clean their yard, to age 19 when a child who has just been told by 'Make A Wish' that he is going to Disney World, tugs on your shirt and says Thank You. And then at age 52,  when like me you made a difference and helped donate $75.000.00 to rebuild the Ophthalmology Department at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

Volunteering is a life time project. It is a Full-Time job and the only requirements are: Some Spare Time, Passion to Help, A Smile is Payment, Interested in your Community, and most of all, all you need is love,"
